Bought "Star Secrets" lipstick in "Penelope's Red" ... ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS RED that is TRULY RED not pink! I had the hardest time finding a red lipstick that did not turn pink on my skin... this is the best drug-store brand that worked!

ColorStay Lipstick in: Mocha Silk

I do like the how even though it's a matte lipstick, it still seems to have some lustre to it, it's not flat and dry looking like the old-world lipsticks of yesteryear.

The color is excellent for me, and I would recommend for any golden toned woman, light or dark. Gorgeous medium cinnamon color that can be use lightly with lipgloss to get a perfect nude lip!

Pros: Wears very well for a long time without drying out! Goes on smooth.
Cons: I could tell they tried to scent it, but the smell is mildly off-putting.

The color is slightly strong for my taste, but I would recommend for any golden toned woman (light or dark) who does enjoy a warm brown lipstick.  For me, it is too strong to use as a nude lipstick, so that's why I don't favor it, but the shade itself is nice.

Pros: Wears very well for a long time without drying out! Goes on smooth.
Cons: I could tell they tried to scent it, but the smell is mildly off-putting.

hi,

i think revlon's colorstay lipcolor is the very best lipstick there is. i've used sienna, russet, sand and a few others.  its simply great especially for a person like me who doesn't like sticky stuff on her lips.  and as everyone said it is LOOONG weaing... it never dried out my lips (my lips dry out very easily) when i wear it, it even stops my lips from drying.

Pros: you don't even feel ur wearing lipstick
Cons: they've stopped distributing it in Pakistan ... where i live :(

This seems to be a common thread, but I'm confused by the previous review. This is supposed to be for Colorstay lipstick, but she's describing the gloss...

Anyway, in regards to the gloss she was referring to, I'm hooked on th Zinfindel color. (and it is the only color I would repurchase) Its a golden rose that is soo pretty. My tube was clear, so I must have an earlier or later version than she does. I have a grapey color that really is long lasting, but can look overly dry at times.

As for the lipsticks, your milage may

Revlon Colorstay Overtime is my new favorite lipcolor. I work a long day and do not have time to reapply lipstick, but I hate the normally dry feel and tacky appearance of long wearing lipstick. For those of you who  have tried the regular overtime lipcolor, this is not the same at all. I found the original formula to be drying like all the rest. Overtime formula is dewy and doesn't dry your lips out. The color selection is great..
On the con side, the size of the container is really skimpy. Revlon plays a nasty little trick on you by coloring the gloss tube the same color as the product to make it appear full.  If you could see through it, you would note that it is really only 25% or 35% full to begin with. This annoys me in that it only lasts two months max with use of several times a week. They are trying to disguise the actual cost, but I am really irritated at having to get a new tube that soon. That said, I still love it and can't find anything to rival it. I know buy it in bulk on Ebay to combat this problem.

Pros: long wearing, great colors, natural looking and feeling texture, non drying
Cons: tiny amount of product in each tube requires you to repurchase sooner than you would normally have to. Dear Revlon: Just make it bigger and raise the price. Let's be honest about the cost.

I am very pale with pink undertones. I purchased this in shell and mauve. I am very happy with both. This is not like one of those paint-on long-lasting lipsticks (like the new Revlon Colorstay Overtime or Cover Girl's Outlast, etc). They are more like regular lipsticks. This is good because they wear off more evenly than the paint-type ones. There is no flaking, cracking, peeling, etc, and when you do have to reapply, it is much easier than with the paint kind. These last a very long time, several hours in fact, though you will probably notice some slight rub-off when drinking out of a glass, etc. Revlon makes these in a variety of colors. They may make your lips dry, so I would suggest applying some sort of lip balm first (I use soft lips in the vanilla flavor). Even with a lip balm, these still last an incredibly long time.

Pros: last a very long time, come in a variety of shades
Cons: may make lips feel dry after repeated use
